My duties
Leadership of all engineering groups including process engineering.
Development of all engineering personnel to continue to raise levels of skill, capability and professional competence through structured coaching, experiential learning, and training.
Develop, implement, and maintain standard processes, delivering process outputs in line with the business objectives set on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
Investigate and resolve issues related to the technical performance or the workability of the manufacturing processes closely working with production and quality and following all applicable procedures (change control, CAPA, validation, procedures, training).
Establish and control Engineering department budget.
Drive continuous improvement on existing manufacturing processes on a technical level and workability to meet new or increased requirements and objectives closely working with manufacturing to assess and optimize the organizational impact of improvements. Improvements are implemented in a controlled way in close collaboration with manufacturing and quality and all applicable procedures are followed.
Manage and execute Validation Projects to guarantee a validated state of the utilised manufacturing equipment and processes within assigned area with responsibility.
Support R&D and Regulatory with the introduction of new products and processes into manufacturing and the change process for existing products.
Execute or support assigned capital expenditure projects to improve existing manufacturing processes or introduce new processes.
Support the Site Manager by providing data (Projects, Costs, Improvements) for the strategy and budget plan.
My qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree required in Mechanical, Biomedical, Industrial, Manufacturing Engineering or Information Technology
Leadership experience in a plant and maintenance engineering function essential
Specific experience and knowledge of converting and/or packaging processes in the medical device industry desirable
Experience in a process, industrial, or manufacturing engineering capacity
Validation experience within a regulated manufacturing environment advantageous
Proven experience and certification in Lean / Six Sigma methodologies and use of this to drive continuous improvement
You can demonstrate substantial achievements in the implementation and maintenance of best-in-class maintenance systems
Understanding of Medical Device Regulations including ISO13485; GMP
Knowledge and experience of plant and machine related health & safety / regulatory compliance requirements
Experience in leading projects in relation to quality, time, cost and communication and drive improvements
Excellent influencing, analytical, problem solving and communication skills
Ability to work with a team and autonomously
Ability to analyse business needs and make recommendations based on sound business knowledge and commercial acumen
Ability to respond flexibly to change and work to tight deadlines
Ability to interpret and apply legislation and policies
Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software Word, Excel, Project
Fluent German and English language skills are a must
