Head of Professional Practice
Espirita Exec Search are currently recruiting for a Band 8B Head of Professional Practice to join one of the UK’s largest private organisations!
Situated in the heart of London’s medical district, they make investments in cutting-edge technology and take great pride in being a part of the network of top-tier hospitals that make London a well-known global hub for healthcare.
The impressive clinic has 74 consulting rooms, 10 operating theatres consisting of a hybrid theatre and 2 invasive/day surgery theatres, a level 3 intensive care unit, 181 overnight beds and 59 daybeds.

Job Profile
This influential position, which reports to the Directors of Nursing, Clinical Services, Medical, and the Chief People Officer, will develop the clinical development strategy, implement clear career pathways, and make sure that their team is both skilled and professional and has access to development to support their personal and professional growth, such as toolkits and action plans.

Job Type: Full Time/Permanent
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday
Job Location: London, Marylebone
Salary: The attractive salary range for this role is 65K – 75K p/annum, dependent on skills & experience (Band 8b equivalent)

Responsibilities
Develop and lead the Clinic’s professional and practice development strategy, working with key stakeholders to ensure a commitment to continuous learning
Provide professional advice on the development of nurses’/AHP competency-based practice (in line with NMC/HCPC/Professional standards) and maintain the organisation’s framework for clinical education, policy and practice.
Ensure The Clinic is compliant with CQC Regulation 18 and advise on the statutory-mandatory portfolio for clinical staff
Support the Nursing, Clinical Services & Medical Directors in leading the practice and educational development of the teams
Chair, or participate in, relevant internal committees and governance activities
Identify and evaluate potential development gaps using accredited quality improvement processes.
Support team members with their professional development through meaningful appraisals and 1-2-1 meetings
Manage the relevant budgets and processes for applications for external learning

Key skills & experience
Significant post-registration clinical experience, including as a clinical manager with experience of driving the development agenda.
Clinical qualification with relevant post-graduate master’s degree or other qualification in clinical education or postgraduate/pre-registration education.
Experience of working within an educational environment, creating and delivering high quality, supportive learning environments and teaching packages for a breadth of clinical staff.
Strong written and oral communication skills with excellent presentation skills
Ability to influence a wide range of internal and external stakeholders at various levels of seniority
Results oriented and able to drive change
