Job purpose/role
The team of AIM Investment Management Life/Health in Stuttgart is responsible for designing and implementing the investment strategy of the German Life and Health insurance entities. Allianz is the by far leading life insurance business in Germany and our asset base accounts for almost half of all insurance related investment assets at Allianz Group. As such, we cooperate closely with our colleagues within the global network of AIM as well as our internal and external asset managers, developing our investment strategy and adapting it to the specific needs of the portfolios we manage.
You will be part of the portfolio management team. In your future position you will analyse asset class attractiveness, select and review asset managers, drive the implementation of new strategies and improve our portfolio steering to achieve strong returns for our policyholders, while managing the ESG, Solvency II and HGB/Steering needs. Your asset class focus will be on the traded space. Further, you will participate in the development of our new state-of-the-art analytics platform for investment steering and apply your portfolio modelling skills. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of an investment team that is in charge of a global and highly diversified investment portfolios of more than EUR 300bn with plenty of opportunities to learn and develop.

Key responsibilities:
Contribute to steering our investment portfolios and to developing AIM’s investment strategy based on fundamental market analysis. The position has a focus on traded fixed mandates and derivatives overlay strategies

Model and analyse positioning, return expectations and many other KPIs of the portfolio, and derive recommendations together with other asset class specialists

Select and review asset managers in cooperation with our global Asset Manager Management team

Implement and continue to improve our Allianz ESG and decarbonisation framework

Engage in the Allianz Investment community, exchange knowledge and work on joint projects across hubs and teams

Key requirements/skills/experience:

Master degree in economics or business, (financial) mathematics, financial engineering or other quantitative areas. PhD or CFA is a plus. Ideally already 3-5 years of work experience

Good understanding of capital markets, their macroeconomic drivers and willingness to learn

Strong interest in portfolio modelling and data analytics

Good IT and programming knowledge (e.g. in SQL and Python) is a plus

Team player, ready to take over responsibility and getting-things-done mentality

Fluency in English and preferably German
