For a bioanalytical collaboration between our Human Health and Animal Health research divisions, we are establishing a bioanalytical laboratory at our Animal Health R&D site in Schwabenheim (near Mainz).

To support our Clinical Pharmacokinetics Bioanalytical team on a permanent and full-time basis we look for an

Sample Management and Metrology Specialist (m/w/d)

Your responsibilities will include the development and validation of human clinical assays and assisting in the analysis of clinical trial samples to inform program decisions.
In this exciting role you will:
Manage the chain of custody of regulated bioanalytical samples across a variety of human biological matrices (blood, serum, etc.) and critical reagents from receipt through shipment/disposal
Develop expertise in the use of Laboratory Information Management Systems (e.g. Watson LIMS) to setup studies, track sample movements, and facilitate data reconciliation
Support the equipment lifecycle from the purchase, install, qualification, and software validation of new laboratory equipment through instrument retirement
Maintain regulated instrument maintenance schedules, and ensure the on-time completion of calibration or maintenance activities in accordance with departmental SOPs
Manage sample freezers, including the handling of temperature alarms and oversight of monitoring system/software

Your Profile:
Completed professional training as a laboratory technician with a minimum of three years of laboratory experience, or a BA/BS degree in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, or related sciences with at least one year of relevant laboratory experience
Experience working within a laboratory setting managing samples and/or equipment maintenance activities
Experience working within a regulated GxP laboratory setting utilizing laboratory information management systems (Watson LIMS) or databases is a plus
Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask that will allow the candidate to be successful managing both study sample workflows (sample receipt and distribution), while maintaining a variety of equipment schedules, documents, and maintenance tasks
Strong collaborator with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and German
Willingness to travel to the US and flexibility of work hours
