As Systems Design Engineer specialized for battery test benches, you will be responsible for ensuring the success and addressing business concerns of some of our largest, most important automotive test customers. You will design the battery test solutions including main responsibility for specification, planning and project engineering of the customer project solution.

Responsibilities:

As an expert for Battery Testing Solutions you will be responsible for development best-fit solution for the customer
Your main responsibility is to manage the planning, design and execution of electrical components, systems, equipment and related electrical technical items and topics required throughout all engineering phases for the successful execution of the project
To reach the project targets you will focus on driving functional and cost-effective engineering solutions by identifying potentials for optimization and improvement
First contact to the internal project management and the customer regarding engineering questions of the project
Responsibility over planning and conceptual design of new battery testing solutions for our customer projects
Work closely with all engineering teams to generate the most effective and efficient processes during design and specification of our testing facilities
Project handling based on the V-process as well as relevant norms and standards
Alignment of the hardware architecture with other disciplines (mechanic, system and software)
Work independently and with vendors to understand root-cause of failures, propose design or component changes, implement and validate equipment modifications

Qualifications:

BSc, MSc, or PhD or equivalent degree in engineering, electronics, mechatronics, mechanical, automation, or a related field and relevant experience required
Knowledge in batteries and battery testing systems over the whole development process
Experience with electrical and equipment like power supplies, loads, data acquisition systems, and battery cyclers
Experience / training in live working with hazardous voltages and battery systems is a plus
At least 5 years of professional experience in commissioning or verification of electronic systems (hardware and software)
Solid and proven knowledge of Electrical Standards, knowledge of additional international standards is considered a strong plus
Experience in coordinating engineering activities, consulting of internal customers and interface management with internal and external parties
Strong communication and presentation skills and a self-organized way of working in an intercultural environment
Strong motivation to collaborate across multi-functional teams and to help build and shape our organization, structures and processes
Fluent German and English skills
