CureVac SE is a global biopharmaceutical company researching and developing novel drugs based on the natural molecule Messenger RNA (mRNA). To strengthen our team in Tübingen near Stuttgart, we are currently looking to recruit a
Senior Scientist (f/m/d) Process Development pDNA Downstream Processing Primary Recovery
Your Responsibilities:
Scientific and disciplinary management of a team responsible for the development, optimization and upscaling of GMP-compliant manufacturing processes for nucleic acids with focus on plasmid DNA
Planning, execution, interpretation and documentation of experiments
Perform small-scale validation and process characterization studies
Support transfer of production steps to routine production
Preparation of development reports, technical documents, risk analyses, laboratory instructions, training documents and SOPs
Subject Matter Expert (SME) for process development topics at C(D)MOs as well as technology transfers to GMP production sites
Participation in multidisciplinary project teams
Supervision of external development activities
Your Qualification:
PhD in Biotechnology, Biochemical Engineering or related field
Extensive professional experience in process development of scalable and efficient biopharmaceutical purification processes, ideally in pharmaceutical/ biotech industry or relevant PostDoc experience
Relevant professional experience in the production of biopharmaceuticals and process characterization
Hands-on experience in primary recovery (cell lysis, cell debris clarification, precipitation and filtrations)
Profound knowledge in developing scalable, cost-effective biopharmaceutical production processes
Good theoretical and practical knowledge in molecular biology and bioanalytics
Experienced in design of experiments (DoE)
Ability to independently devise research projects but also to work in an interdisciplinary team
Strong communication skills and team-oriented work style
Fluency in German and English
